MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – The personal exhibition of well-known Belarusian and French artist Roman Zaslonov attracted crowds in Minsk on its opening day on 3 December, BelTA has learned.
The National Art Museum of Belarus that has housed the exposition has not seen such a big number of visitors for a while. Attending the presentation were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Culture Ministry, the Belarusian embassy in France and the French embassy in Belarus, the artist’s friends from the Belarusian Union of Painters, and art fans.
Belarus Deputy Culture Minister Vasily Chernik stressed the importance of the fact that Roman Zaslonov who left Belarus nearly 20 years ago keeps in touch with his motherland. Abroad he presents his works as a Belarusian artist even despite the fact that he has gained popularity during his life in France.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko praised the creativity of the artist whose ambition and talent has won him well-deserved reputation. “It is not just a talented painter, he is also a kind and sincere person who has a wonderful family and wife. He has received recognition in France, other European countries, the United States. He does remember Belarus and has come back here with a great exhibition,” the diplomat noted.
According to Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Painters Grigory Sitnitsa, Roman Zaslonov is a bright personality, a talented artist. He continues the best traditions of the Belarusian art school and decently presents them abroad.
Roman Zaslonov thanked the Belarusian embassy in France, the National Art Museum for the organization of his first personal exhibition in Minsk, which has featured nearly 30 masterpieces.
The exhibition will stay open through 25 January 2016.
