MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – The Day of Belarusian Written Language will take place in Rogachev, Gomel Oblast on 4 September. It is included into Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.80 of 1 February 2016, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.
A national organizing committee is being set up to prepare and hold the event. The committee will be led by Vice Premier Natalia Kochanova.
The events of the Day will be financed from the national and local budgets. Other sources will also be used.
The Day of Belarusian Written Language is a national holiday. It has been celebrated since 1994 to popularize the best traditions of the national culture, the printed word, the spirituality of the Belarusian people. The Day is celebrated in historical and cultural centers which are closely connected to the life of famous people of the country.
