MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The Grand Prix of the twelfth edition of the International Student Theater Festival Teatralny Kufar went to the production of Nikolai Gogol's Viy staged by the company Studiozy of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian State University, the organizer of the festival.
The same production was given the awards Best Stage Design and Best Supporting Male Actor (Nikita Primochenko).
The Best Female Actor prize was presented to Darya Parmenkova, a student of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. Denis Grigaryuk of the theater Cinematograph (Ukraine) got the Best Male Actor award. Inna Kuzmina from the same theater was named Best Supporting Female Actor for her performance in the production of Leonid Andreyev’s A Tale of the Seven Hanged.
The winners were chosen by the international jury chaired by Georgian theater critic Maka Vasadze.
The international festival was hosted by Belarusian State University. Partaking in the forum were theater troupes from eleven countries, including Belarus, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Iran, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and Estonia.
