MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Prince Michael of Kent, a member of the British Royal Family, has visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The distinguished guest was interested to learn about the work of the museum which has the largest holdings of Great Patriotic War artifacts and is a major center for civic and patriotic education in the country. His Royal Highness was informed about the history of the museum and the average visitor numbers.
Prince Michael of Kent was impressed with the museum’s exposition and its effort to preserve the memory of the victory of the Soviet people over Nazism. His Royal Highness made an entry in the book of distinguished guests.
The visit of Prince Michael of Kent to Belarus will last through 13 October. He will meet with Belarusian government officials, visit the Hi-Tech Park and historical and cultural sites such as the Khatyn memorial and the National Art Museum.
