TASHKENT, 13 September (BelTA) – A ceremony took place in Tashkent on 13 September to open a new manufacturing wing of the Belarusian-Uzbek enterprise Amkodor-Agrotechmash, BelTA has learned.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the event. The heads of state were informed about the current operation of the enterprise and development prospects.
Amkodor-Agrotechmash will make 220 vehicles by the end of the year. The output is expected to approach 1,300 vehicles in several years or $65 million worth of merchandise. Localization rate at Amkodor-Agrotechmash is expected to reach at least 50% by 2021. As much as $33 million will be invested in the enterprise over the course of four years. There are plans to sell the products in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
As part of the opening ceremony the presidents watched an unusual show – a dance of loaders and tricky operations performed using excavators of local make. The driver of a frontal loader Amkodor 352 managed to close a box of matches using the vehicle. The driver of an excavator-loader Amkodor 732 managed to take a peaked cap off the hat stand, put it in the cabin and battered down a nail into a log after that.
