MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Information boards about Minsk landmarks will be translated into Chinese, Yelena Plis, director of the information and tourist center Minsk, noted at a briefing session at the Minsk City Hall on 23 October, BelTA has learned.
The work is underway to update the orientation system for pedestrians. Belarus is preparing the information and advertising materials about Minsk’s tourism potential for Chinese visitors. The Belarusian capital is set to sign memorandums of cooperation in tourism with its sister cities from China. It also plans to arrange fam trips for representatives of the Chinese tourism industry and mass media.
“Our Chinese colleagues show interest in Belarus’ culture and tourism. They can turn a spotlight on Minsk’s tourism potential in mass media,” Yelena Plis remarked.
In September 2017, the first organized Chinese tourist group arrived in Belarus on a six-day tour under a program of Belarus’ state-run tour operator Tsentrkurort and the tourism department of the China Tourism Group Corporation. The sides are expected to boost cooperation in tourism in 2018 as part of the Year of Tourism between Belarus and China.
