MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – A project to set up a Belarusian-Chinese educational, scientific, informational and analytical cluster in the National Confucius Institute of Sinology at Belarusian State University (BSU) was considered during a visit of a delegation of Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) to Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian State University.
The first step toward implementing this initiative was the opening the Belarusian-Chinese Joint Institute DPU-BSU in Dalian in 2017. The next stage is to set up the Belarusian-Chinese Institute at BSU. It will offer majors in demand in the Great Stone industrial park. The parties agreed to establish a joint institute of distance education.
The Confucius Institute of Sinology has reported an increase in the number of students of the Chinese language. It has also developed the methods of teaching Chinese hieroglyphics, issued a set of teaching materials for daytime training prorgams and distance learning courses for retraining schoolteachers, published collections of articles and research papers on the conferences.
Following the talks, the two universities' rectors Andrei Korol and Guo Dongming signed an updated agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and science. The document provides for academic exchange of students, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral candidates and professors for internships and practical training programs. The parties are planning to conduct joint scientific research, seminars and publish scientific, educational and teaching materials as a result of collective work.
