MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – The nanosatellite created by students of the Belarusian State University is supposed to be inserted into orbit in late 2018 – early 2019, BelTA learned from Piotr Vityaz, Chief of Staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, on 28 August.
“Creating a nanosatellite for educational purposes is one of the areas of space activities in Belarus. I hope it will be launched this year or early next year at the latest,” said Piotr Vityaz. “All our accomplishments in space industry, including the creation of satellites for the remote sensing of Earth, will be presented during the 31st planetary congress of the Association of Space Explorers, which is due in Minsk in September.”
BelTA reported earlier that China has won the tender for inserting into orbit a nanosatellite created by students of the Belarusian State University. The satellite will be used for educational purposes. Its data will be fed to labs for implementing various research projects of professors and students.
