BREST, 7 August (BelTA) – There are plans to open a Confucius class in Pushkin Brest State University, BelTA learned from Vice-Rector for Research Alexander Budko.
The agreement was reached during a visit of a delegation of Henan Normal University to Pushkin Brest State University. The universities signed a memorandum of cooperation. The major goal of the document is to open a Confucius class in the Brest university. The class will have a gym to popularize China's Wu-Shu and Tai Chi.
“Tai Chi is called a soul of the Chinese people. There is no such Confucius class in Belarus. Henan Normal University opened such a center in Canada. China will finance the opening of the center in Brest. I think that the coordination of the issues related to the opening of a new class will proceed as the new academic year kicks off,” the vice-rector said.
Representatives of Henan Normal University also expressed readiness to establish long-term cooperation in the development and implementation of joint programs in the area of professional higher education, master’s degree and research. In October, Pushkin Brest State University expects students from China. A delegation of the Brest university plans to pay a return visit to China in autumn.
