Photo and literary exhibitions in Drucki-Lubecki Palace on Belarusian Literature Day in Shchuchin

SHCHUCHIN, 19 August (BelTA) – The Drucki-Lubecki Palace in Shchuchin will host photo and literary exhibitions on the Belarusian Literature Day. This decision was made at a meeting of the organizing committee for the Belarusian Literature Day on 19 August, BelTA has learnt.

The opening of the former residence of the Drucki-Lubecki noble family will mark the start of the Belarusian Literature Day celebrations on 6 September. After the ceremony, the guests will go to the main venue that will host the main events.

The renovated palace will become home to the local children's and youth art center, and also the local history museum and a conference hall. However, on the Belarusian Literature Day the palace will be hosting unique exhibition which are being prepared by various cultural institutions of the country.

Culture Minister Boris Svetlov informed that the palace will host the exhibitions dedicated to the military topics, and also to the art and life of Yakub Kolas, Adam Mitskevich and Vladimir Korotkevich, and others. Moreover, during the Belarusian Literature Day celebrations, the posters, photographs and literary exhibitions will be deployed in the culture center and at the pavilions in Svobody Square.

According to Information Minister Lilia Ananich, the exhibition projects timed to the Belarusian Literature Day in Shchuchin will leave no one indifferent. For example, the expositions dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will feature the books which were published during the war and which contributed to achieving the victory.

Another project will be the presentation of the facsimile editions of Francysk Skaryna and their donation to the district library in Shchuchin.

The Belarusian Literature Day will be held in Shchuchin on 6 September.
