MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The forthcoming address of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to the nation and the parliament is expected to have certain distinctive features, BelTA learned from Natalya Eismont, Press Secretary of the Belarusian head of state.
According to the source, the address will distill and update the tasks and topics discussed in the course of major events involving the head of state through the year. “A lot is already being implemented in practice. It is now necessary to sketch out major long-range tasks taking into account the already made decisions and specific instructions,” said the press secretary.
As examples of the matters discussed at the level of the head of state Natalya Eismont mentioned agriculture, utilities industry, prices, the performance of the real sector of the national economy, the state of affairs in sport industry, social and youth policies and the decisions that had already been made to liberalize business operation terms and encourage the entrepreneurial initiative of citizens, develop digital economy, science, and education. “Indeed, a great deal of events have been held. Economic matters were discussed about 50 times this year alone and during public events alone. Most importantly, each topic was discussed in an extremely concrete and productive manner,” noted the press secretary.
As for the matters the presidential address will raise, Natalya Eismont mentioned all the topical issues concerning the life of the Belarusian society as a whole and the life of every citizen in particular.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will deliver an annual address to the nation and the parliament on 24 April. The address will be broadcast live by the TV channels Belarus One, Belarus 24, and the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio. The broadcasts will begin at 10:30. A TV version of the address will be broadcast by Belarusian TV channels in the evening.
