MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – The 23rd international expo Mass Media in Belarus will represent over 50 exhibitors, BelTA learned from Belarusian Information Minister Aleksandr Karlyukevich.
The official said the expo will open at 12:00 on 2 May. It will represent over 50 exhibitors. The expo will traditionally showcase printed and digital mass media as well as online publications, which started seeking registration as mass media in Belarus in accordance with legislation novelties as of 1 December 2018. Multiple events will be dedicated to regional mass media, which will tell the story of their participation in the social and economic development of their regions. A presentation of sport publications will be arranged. “We are extremely grateful to all the reporters, who cover sport events. We are grateful to them because they will demonstrate their creative projects during the expo, which is particularly important ahead of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. The expo’s program will also feature BelTA’s projects, projects of press services and communications agencies,” the official said.
According to Aleksandr Karlyukevich, the expo will also feature foreign mass media. “Mass media of our compatriots abroad said they would like to participate. We’ve prepared an individual stand together with the commissioner for religions and nationalities to showcase mass media of diasporas. It will represent Baltic states, Ukraine, and Russia. We will also welcome a delegation from Uzbekistan. With assistance of the Embassy of China in Belarus we will introduce Chinese mass media to our visitors,” he said.
The Mass Media in Belarus expo will be connected to other media events, too. A national seminar on regional mass media will take place in Soligorsk and Slutsk in May. Another international media forum will take place in the second half of the month.
The 23rd international expo Mass Media in Belarus is scheduled to take place in the administrative complex at 14 Pobeditelei Avenue in Minsk on 2-4 May. At least 100 exhibitors representing about 500 printed mass media, television and radio programs and channels from Belarus, Russia, China, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Latvia, India, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, and other countries are expected to participate in the expo. The total exhibition area will exceed 1,000m2.
Visitors will be invited to attend an intensive program featuring presentations of information and Internet projects, autograph sessions, and workshops. Mass media executives and reporters, representatives of the expert community will discuss important matters concerning the operation of the mass media sphere, the role of mass media in the development of the society and the state as part of the business program.
The Mass Media in Belarus expo has been held since 1997 by the Information Ministry with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Executive Committee, the national exhibition center BelExpo, other government agencies, top mass media, and public organizations.
