MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – More than 300 foreign journalists obtained permanent accreditation in Belarus in 2017, BelTA learned from the Annual Review of Foreign Policy of the Republic of Belarus and Activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2017.
“In 2017, more than 300 foreign journalists obtained permanent accreditation in Belarus (up 20%), more than 1,100 were temporarily accredited in the country,” the ministry said.
In general, the effective coverage of domestic and foreign policy events, and major initiatives of the Belarusian government remained among the priorities of the ministry, reads the review.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held ministerial consultations on information-related matters with Belgium, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and institutions of the European Commission. Eight press tours were organized for foreign journalists in Belarus, including those from Latvia, China, and Russia.
