VITEBSK, 9 July (BelTA) – Over 200 craftsmen from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia will take part in the craft fair Town of Craftsmen that will open during the 27th international festival of arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Regional Center of Crafts.
The craft fair will be located on Tolstoy Street and Pushkin Street and will stay open on 12-16 July. On display will be hand-made products from all over Vitebsk Oblast and other regions of Belarus, as well as from Astrakhan, Pskov, Kursk, Smolensk, Kiev, Chernigov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Mirgorod and other places.
The craft fair will feature traditional Slavonic crafts, including ceramics, pottery, willow weaving, national costumes, embroidery, and felting. Craftsmen from Kabardino-Balkaria will take part in the fair for the first time. They will bring national Circassian costumes and products from sheep wool. All products on display will be available for sale.
The Vitebsk Regional Center of Crafts will run a contest for the best traditional doll and toy. Over 300 hand-made items will be showcased.
The event is organized by the culture department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Center of Crafts.
