MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – Over 20 diplomats turned up to recite pieces of poetry by the Belarusian poet Yanka Kupala at a function hosted by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.
The event We Read Kupala Together was organized by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in association with the Yanka Kupala State Literature Museum. It was a traditional meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Foreign ambassadors and multiple representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps in Belarus took part in the event. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas attended the event. The prominent researcher of Yanka Kupala’s work and life, honorary president of the International Yanka Kupala Foundation, Professor Vyacheslav Ragoisha was also present.
An exhibition was arranged in anticipation of the event. It used assets of the Yanka Kupala State Literature Museum to tell visitors about the life and art of the prominent Belarusian wordsmith.
