MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ Yauheni Zalaty continues his successful run at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian kicked off his single sculls campaign with a victory in the preliminary heat on 27 July. On 30 July Yauheni Zalaty competed in the quarterfinal against rowers from Bulgaria, Lithuania, India, Japan and Egypt. The Belarusian came first clocking 6:49.27, followed by Giedrius Bieliauskas of Lithuania and Japan’s Ryuta Arakawa.
Earlier, Belarus’ Tatsiana Klimovich placed third in the women’s single sculls quarterfinal to progress further.
The semifinals are scheduled for 1 August.
