MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Norway’s Jonas Uglem Mobakken claimed victory at the 7.6km Youth Men Sprint event at the ongoing IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Raubichi, Belarus, BelTA has learned.
The Norwegian shot clean to cover the distance in 20:38.5. Austria’s Felix Leitner was second, 10.3 seconds back with two penalties. Mattis Haug of Norway missed one target to finish third, 26.1 seconds back.
Roman Shinkevich of Belarus was ninth with two penalties, 49.9 seconds back. His teammate Pavel Poplavsky also missed two targets to finish 20th, 1:39.3 back. Vadim Radyuk was more precise in shooting but not so fast on the track, finishing 26th, 1:58 back. Anton Smolsky missed five targets to cross the finish line in 53rd position, 3:23.2 back.
Two Junior Sprint events are scheduled for Saturday, 21 February.
