MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – The New Year celebration fireworks in Minsk will begin at 01:30 on 1 January 2017, BelTA learned from Alexander Shestakov, Deputy Head of the Cultural Institutions and Cultural and Educational Work Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
“The New Year celebration program Happy New Year, Minsk! will begin near the Sport Palace at 23:00 to end at 04:00. Minsk residents and guests of the Belarusian capital will be invited to see New Year fireworks that will begin at 01:30 on 1 January,” said the official.
According to the source, more than 100 events are supposed to take place in the city. The most impressive one will be a theatrical procession of Grandfathers Frost and Snow Maidens that is expected to gather over 300 fairy-tale characters. It will begin in Nezavisimosti Square at 17:30 on 24 December. The procession will travel along Nezavisimosti Avenue till Lenina Street to move on to Internatsionalnaya Street and then reach Svobody Square. The firework show A Magic Country Where Wishes Come True will be arranged over there.
The new project Grandfather Frost Welcomes will take place in the city hall on 24 December – 5 January. “By going there, you will be immersed into a magic inimitable atmosphere and will be able to talk to Grandfather Frost,” said Alexander Shestakov.
