MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Another 11 people diagnosed with coronavirus have tested negative for the infection, head of the infectious diseases department of Belarusian State Medical University, Lead Clinician for Infectious Diseases (non-staff) of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry Igor Karpov told reporters on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
“Several people have already been discharged from hospital. Eleven coronavirus patients who are in hospital now have got the first negative test results. This means that they will be discharged soon and will receive ambulatory care,” Igor Karpov said following a meeting with the head of state.
He pointed to the high level of cooperation with the World Health Organization and specialists from China and Italy. “The information they provided is of crucial importance. It helps us develop an action plan and treatment protocols. We are in sync with the international medical community, we receive relevant information, a great deal of data from them. We catch up with this information flow so far,” he explained.
Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik emphasized that efficiency is at the heart of all the efforts of Belarusian healthcare workers. “We will keep acting as effectively as possible. We will try to remain invisible, if possible, as our main task is public health, not a good image or a dog-and-pony show,” he said.
