MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The number of tourists vacationing in Belarusian farmsteads in 2022 is estimated at nearly 500,000, Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik said at a press conference “Leisure 2023 in Belarus: Key trends of the spring-summer season”, BelTA has learned.
“Agro-ecotourism is the visiting card of our country. There are more than 3,000 farmsteads in Belarus. Last year, they welcomed almost 500,000 people. I think that this figure will not drop this year. Moreover, we now see that travelers from the Russian Federation are showing a huge interest in the Belarusian countryside. Therefore, this type of tourism will continue to grow,” Oleg Andreichik emphasized.
According to him, this year the ministry is actively promoting events taking place in farmsteads, in the countryside. “This program of events is constantly updated,” the deputy minister noted.
