MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – About 4,000 bikers from different countries will gather for H.O.G. Rally Minsk to close the motorcycle season 2016 on 24 September, the organizers of the event told a press conference on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
Deputy Head of the Road Police Department of the Interior Ministry of Belarus Alexander Tsegelnik stressed that the motorcycle season opening and closing are traditional events. “This year, as before, road police will secure road safety during the event. We closely cooperate with heads of motorcycle clubs, which helps a lot in informing the popualtion,” he said.
Apart from the traditional motorcycle rally from the Mound of Glory to the Sports Palace in the company of the road patrol service Strela, Minsk residents and guests will be treated to a children’s village featuring young traffic wardens, exhibition shows from Russian and Belarusian road police officers. Besides, visitors will be able to take motorcycle driving tests. The guests will also be invited to see parachute jumping, attend a concert and enjoy spectacular fireworks.
According to H.O.G. Director for Russia and the CIS Sergei Kamenev, Belarus with its high-quality roads is interesting for motorcycle tourism. “I hope our guests will have more good reasons to stay for a while and see the country,” he noted.
The closing of the motorcycle season will mark the 80th anniversary of the State Road Police.
Among the organizers of the event is Motoinvest, the H.O.G Iron Birds and Harley Davidson Office in Russia and the CIS. The festival will be held in cooperation with the Minsk City Hall, the Road Police Department of the Belarusian Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – International participants in the closing event of the H.O.G. Rally Minsk motorbike season will be able to enter the country visa-free, Oleg Lyashuk, the head of the border control division of the State Border Committee of Belarus, told a press conference on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
All the participants in the closing event of the 2016 motorbike season will be granted visa-free entry to Belarus from 21 through 27 September. “It will be for the first time that the international participants will enter the country visa-free,” Oleg Lyashuk said.
The Belarusian capital will host the closing event of the 2016 H.O.G. Rally Minsk motorbike season on 24 September. The event will be attended by some 4,000 motorcyclists from Belarus, Russia, the Baltic states and the countries of Western Europe. The bikers will take part in the traditional rally from Kurgan Slavy (Mound of Glory) to Minsk Sports Palace accompanied by the special traffic police squad Strela of the State Traffic Police Department of the Belarusian Interior Ministry. Minsk residents and visitors will be invited to enjoy performances by Russian and Belarusian traffic police officers, a skydiving show, a concert and fireworks.
