MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Nearly 15,000 fans are expected to attend the second Legends’ Race – Biathlon Stars for Peace festival in Raubichi, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation Yuri Albers told media on 8 September, BelTA has learned.
The program of the festival, which is due on 18 September, will be wider this year. A mixed relay among media representatives and teams of the Olympic Reserve College will be added to three traditional races. Biathlon fans will have an opportunity to take pictures with outstanding athletes during autograph sessions. The festival will open at 10am and will run through 17pm. Special bus services will be offered to carry fans to and from the venue.
Three-time Olympic champion Darya Domracheva is the initiator of the festival. The Belarusian biathlete has invited a lot of famous athletes, including Ricco Gross, Sven Fischer, Halvard Hanevold, Liv Grete Poiree, Vincent Defrasne, Sandrine Bailly, Christoph Sumann, Yuri Kashkarov, Nikolai Kruglov, Viktor Maigurov, Yelena Zubrilova, Sergei Novikov, Alexei Aidarov and many others.
The festival is organized by the Belarusian Biathlon Federation, the Sports and Tourism Ministry, the National Olympic Committee, the Presidential Sport Club, the Minsk City Hall and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
