MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – A nationwide subbotnik [voluntary labor day] will take place in Belarus on 17 April, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.
There are plans to beautify and accomplish places and territories, historical and cultural values, memorial complexes, places of combat glory and military glory dating back to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 during the forthcoming subbotnik.
As much as 50% of the funds to be earned during the subbotnik will be transferred to the Healthcare Ministry for the sake of improving the physical infrastructure of medical institutions, including the purchasing of equipment for providing routine and emergency medical aid to the population. Some of the money will be used to buy COVID-19 vaccines in order to offer affordable inoculation to the nation.
The other half of the money to be earned during the subbotnik will be left at the disposal of the oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee. The money will be spent on repair, reconstruction, restoration of historical and cultural values, memorial complexes, places of combat glory and military glory dating back to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The relevant Council of Ministers resolution is being prepared now.
