MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A multimedia exhibition of Van Gogh artworks went on show in Minsk on 13 November, BelTA informs.
The exposition features about 400 works that maximally reflect the artist’s mood and the atmosphere of that time. Music, including compositions of Piotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy, “strengthens” the mood of the artist in different periods of his life. Before seeing the multimedia presentation, visitors may get familiar with the information stands which tell about the biography of the artist and demonstrate the artist’s technique. Screens will also show excerpts from the artist’s letters to his brother Theo, which made the basis of the project. These letters can be considered an alternative view on the history of the artist’s creative life.
“Unfortunately, not every painting can be made digital and not every owner will allow you doing it. Thus, the multimedia exhibition does not feature the whole collection of the Dutch painter,” the organizers said.
The multimedia exhibition preserves masterpieces for many years to come and provides an opportunity to see every detail of each artwork. The exhibition makes part of the cycle of the events celebrated worldwide to mark the 125th anniversary of Vincent Van Gogh’s death.
The exposition will include master classes and an art studio where specialists will demonstrate the technique which Van Gogh used. “We are trying not just to organize an exhibition but also allow people to become familiar with the painting, develop their love of the art,” the organizers stressed.
“We would like to make the art available to everyone,” the organizers of the exhibition added.
The exposition of Van Gogh’s artworks will run at the exhibition hall TSEKH in Minsk through 13 December.
