MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – The Bison Track Show 2019 featuring a race for MTZ tractors will take place near the 4th kilometer of the Rostov-Taganrog motorway on 2 June, the organizers told BelTA.
It will be the 17th race on record. Participants of the event will have to race for time, overcome water obstacles, participate in a paired closed-circuit race with interchangeable lanes. The racers will have to deal with risky bends in the track, deep trenches, and dangerous inclines.
The Bison Track Show is Russia’s only tractor racing event for agricultural machinery drivers. The first race took place in 2002. In 2016 the Vokrug Sveta magazine described the race as one of the 155 wonders one should see with one’s own eyes. The Bison Track Show is designed to popularize the profession of the farm machinery operator, restore respect for people working in the countryside, and encourage young people to pursue agribusiness careers.
The Belarusian mechanical engineering company MTZ is a major manufacturer of agricultural machines. In Q1 2019 sales profitability totaled 6.5%, with net profit at Br18.395 million. In Q1 2019 the company exported nearly 7,300 units of equipment worth approximately $121.2 million.
