MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – MPs led by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk landscaped the Trostenets Memorial as part of the nationwide clean-up day on 20 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
MPs cleaned the area from fallen leaves and planted apple trees. “Ahead of the event MPs laid flowers at the Eternal Fire to commemorate the victims of the concentration camp. MPs also met with representatives of the Belarusian association of the former underage prisoners of fascism,” the press service said.
According to the House of Representatives, the majority of MPs took part in the nationwide clean-up day within their constituencies.
Money raised as part of the event will be used to reconstruct Victory Monument in Minsk and also other monuments to fallen heroes, the press service said.
