MOGILEV, 20 July (BelTA) – The Mogilev Drama Theater has submitted an application to join the Silk Road Association, BelTA learned from the theater.
The idea to recreate the Silk Road was put forward by China and was supported by other countries, including Belarus. However, apart from trade and transportation of goods from Asia to Europe, this idea encompasses a broad range of projects, including in culture and art.
Two Belarusian theaters – the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater and the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater – are already members of the Silk Road Association.
“Membership in this association will enable our troupe to take part in their projects, exchange visits, receive training and take part in master classes. The most important thing, however, is an opportunity to perform in China,” the Mogilev Drama Theater said.
This year marked the debut of the traditional Chinese opera on stage of the Mogilev Drama Theater. A Chinese opera troupe from Shenzhen visited Mogilev on 7 June.
