GRODNO, 5 August (BelTA) – The Mirum Music Festival will take place at the walls of the Mir Castle on 8 August, BelTA learnt from the organizers of the event.
This year the fest headliners will be well-known Georgian jazz singer and composer Nino Katamadze featuring the string quartet N, and Ukraine’s electro-folk band ONUKA, one of the brightest music discoveries of 2014.
The festival will also feature Lithuania’s pop/experimental/electronic band Leon Somov & Jazzu, Russia’s band NAADYA, the Belarusian pioneer in phonemic singing Nagual, which songs include sounds from all over the world, talented singer, songwriter, pianist and DJ from Ukraine DaKooka, and also music bands Shuma, Intelligency, Dzierzynski bitz, and a new music project Take the Cookies.
Despite the name of the festival, its organizers do not position the Mirum Music Festival as a purely music show. “We offer our guests to live through various entertainments, i.e. a trip to the walls of the old castle, familiarization with the quality modern cuisine, alternative music and medieval history. It is the most heartwarming festival in Belarus,” said Yegor Zakharko, one of the organizers of the festival.
The Mirum Music Festival is a young Belarusian forum which was first held in 2012. The fest welcomes thousands of visitors. Technical support to the festival is provided by the Grodno Oblast Philharmonic Society.
