MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Day of Multiethnic Russia will be marked in Minsk on 9 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.
The event will be held in the Upper Town from 1pm to 11pm. The program of activities will include a concert of the public associations of the Belarusian Center of Ethnic Cultures, the Coordinating Council of the Heads of Public Associations of Russian Compatriots and also numerous guests from Russia. Children and adults will be invited to a number of themed zones, such as Polesie, Fairy Rus, Let’s Sing Together, Sports Ground, A Town of Craftsmen, Field Kitchen and others.
The celebrations will feature exhibitions and master classes of craftsmen: ceramics, pottery, knitting, artistic processing of birch bark, belt weaving on plates, embroidery, straw and vine weaving. The Tatar-Bashkir, Chuvash, Russian and Dagestan diasporas will organize exhibitions of traditional folk culture and national costumes. The event will also include a photo zone and a tasting of the multinational cuisine of Russia.
The concert will feature Nikitina Russian Songs Choir, the dance group Legends of the Caucasus, the Tatar and Bashkir folk band Leisan, the Chuvash music band Khamar Yal, Maestro Choir from Saint Petersburg, and many more.
The festival is organized by the Minsk City Hall, the Coordinating Council of the Heads of Public Associations of Russian Compatriots, the Russian embassy, the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Belarus, and the Belarusian Center of Ethnic Cultures.
