MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – Minsk will join the second edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World on 20-26 November, BelTA learned from the Italian Embassy in Belarus.
The program will feature tastings, master classes, a university conference, televised meetings with chefs, marketing campaigns, cooking shows, screenings of films and documentaries.
“The purpose of the week is to improve the relationship between the world of cuisine and the world of enogastronomy and to introduce the Belarusian audience to the genuine Italian high-quality wines and cuisine,” the embassy said.
Two cooking master classes with wine tasting stand out among the twelve events scheduled during the week of cuisine. One of them will feature representatives of the Gae Aulenti Institute of Hospitality of the city of Trivero and members of the Association of Neapolitan Pizzamakers who will talk about the Piedmont Region cuisine and why the art of baking pizzas should be included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
“During the second master class the famous cooks from Emilia Romagna and representatives of the Bartolomeo Scappi Institute of Hospitality from the city of Castel San Pietro Terme will offer viewers to explore the cuisine of the Emilia Romagna region and the art of rolling out the dough by hand,” the diplomatic mission said.
Throughout the week the best Italian restaurants in Belarus will offer a special menu inspired by the recipes of Pellegrino Artusi, the father of the national Italian cuisine. Italian sommeliers will introduce visitors to the art of smelling and tasting wine. Belarusian universities will host experts who will talk about food security and winemaking, the development of cooking and enogastronomy in Italy, the lifestyle and eating habits of Emilia Romagna residents.
