MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – Minsk will join 60 cities in ten countries that celebrate World Poetry Day on 21 March, BelTA learned from Anna Bukhta, a curator of the forum in Belarus.
World Poetry Day was instituted by UNESCO on 21 March. The event is marked by numerous literary institutions. The countries celebrating World Poetry Day include France, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Germany, India, Poland, Montenegro, and Serbia.
On 21 March all participating cities will host gala concerts with the hashtag #vsempoezii. The Moscow House in Minsk will be the major venue in the Belarusian capital celebrating the event with concerts, poetry readings, book exhibitions.
The event will be attended by invited guests, including representatives of the Union of Writers of Belarus and well-known figures of culture.
The festival in Minsk will wrap up with lectures and workshops on contemporary poetry at the Maksim Bogdanovich Literature Museum on 22 March.
