Minsk to host Shenyang Finance Museum exhibition

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) –  The exhibition Silver Empire of the Shenyang Finance Museum will open at the National History Museum of Belarus on 2 August, BelTA learned from director of the museum Pavel Sapotko.

“This unique exhibition will introduce Minsk residents to financial instruments of China from antiquity to the 19th century. It will show a retrospective of the history of the development of paper and metal currency in China. Shenyang Finance Museum will show the role silver ingots and paper money played in the economy of the Chinese civilization, how the financial system developed over the past two millennia. Visitors will try on the role of the legendary traveler Marco Polo who unveiled the economic successes of ancient China for Europe ,” Pavel Sapotko said.

The project will stay open till 18 August.

In 2018 Shenyang Finance Museum signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National History Museum. The Belarusian and Chinese sides agreed on cooperation in the preservation of museum collections, exhibitions, exchange of information, museum pedagogics and joint exploration of the newest museum technologies.
