MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) - The outcome document of the plenary session of the Council of Bishops' Conferences of Europe due in Minsk on 27 September - 1 October will be announced at the Holy Trinity Church (Saint Roch) in Zolotaya Gorkaon 30 September, BelTA learned from the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.
The plenary session dedicated to the matters of youth and Europe as a common home will be attended by the heads of European Bishops' Conferences from 45 countries. The program includes the press conference in Minsk City Hall (28 September), visits to some Minsk’s parishes, meetings with local believers (1 October) and other events.
The plenary session is expected to result in the outcome document which will be red out in the Holy Trinity Church (Saint Roch) in Zolotaya Gorka, Minsk. The document will be taken into account during the preparation for the next Synod of Bishops on youth matters which will take place in Rome in August 2018, representatives of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus said.
The Council of the European Bishops' Conferences was set up in 1965, when thirteen Presidents of the National Diocese in Rome decided to found a committee with a view of developing opportunities for closer cooperation at the level of local bishops. The foundation meeting for the Council was held in Rome on 23-24 March 1971. The Council comprises 39 members – European Bishops' Conferences - and a number of other hierarchical structures. The annual plenary assembly names the place for the next plenary meeting.
