MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ open winter swimming championship Minsk Open and the 3rd leg of the IWSA World Cup will open in the Belarusian capital on 17 January, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Winter Swimming Federation Vladimir Shulgan.
The competitions will be held through 21 January at the Svisloch River near the Minsk Sports Center. About 400 people from 18 countries have registered to take part in the championship. Among them are representatives of Russia, Poland, Germany, Chile, England, Israel, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and others. The official opening ceremony of the championship will take place on the river bank near the Sports Center on 18 January.
The competitions scheduled for 17 January will include 450m Freestyle. Different heats will be held from 10.00 to 17.00 on 18-21 January.
Foreign guests will be offered an interesting cultural, entertainment and excursion program.
