MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – The international festival Ancient Minsk will gather representatives of reenactment clubs from Belarus and abroad in the Belarusian capital on 8-9 September, head of the cultural department of the Minsk City Hall Vitalina Rudikova told the media on 29 August, BelTA has learned.
The festival will feature knight, cavalry and archery tournaments, exhibition shows. Visitors will be invited to enjoy the atmosphere of the previous epochs: from the Vikings to World War II. The festival will be held at the crossing of Pobeditelei Avenue and Masherova Street.
The festival will open with a parade of reenactment clubs on 8 September. In the evening a mass theatrical show will present an improvised castle assault. The two-day event will feature tent camps, trading stalls, an arts and crafts fair, a mint and a variety of master classes.
“Apart from the Belarusian reenactment clubs we expect guests from the neighboring countries: Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine. About 300-400 people have applied to take part,” Vitalina Rudikova said.
Performing at the festival will be Khmelny Bir, Spiritual Season, Pawa, Hok-key, Lity Taler, Bez Paniki, Nemiga and others.
