MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – The 4^th international forum on corporate social responsibility (CSR) will take place in Minsk on 26 February, BelTA learnt from the UN Public Information Department in Belarus.

The forum is organized with the assistance of the United Nations Organization in Belarus, the international social and economic foundation Idea and the European Commission.

The CSR concert got its development in Belarus in 2006 with the support of the UN Development Program in line with the UN initiative Global Compact which offers the business community to be guided by the fundamental principles of human rights, labor relations, environmental protection and fighting corruption in its activity. Today the Global compact signatories in Belarus are 49 organizations and companies.

According to UNDP expert Taisiya Eletskikh, “corporate social responsibility is acknowledged a long-term strategy for sustainable development worldwide, and governments of many countries pay considerable attention to the promotion of the CSR idea.”
