MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – Minsk will host the second Belarusian-Chinese humanitarian scientific forum on 15 and 16 June. The forum will discuss matters related to the alignment of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
“The NASB Institute of Economics jointly with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will hold the second Belarusian-Chinese humanitarian scientific forum on the alignment of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union on 15 and 16 June. The event will bring together over 120 government officials, diplomats, representatives of research institutions and universities of Belarus and China,” the press service said.
The experts will discuss mechanisms for securing economic growth and improving the competitiveness of the Belarusian and Chinese economies, and also ways to use the capacities of the Eurasian Economic Union to promote the implementation of the Silk Road Economic Belt concept. Besides, the forum will consider prospects for the implementation of the infrastructure projects of the Belt and Road initiative in Belarus, intensification of the cooperation in science, technology, and humanitarian affairs, and development of transport, logistics, financial and other services as part of the effort to align the EAEU and the Silk Road Economic Belt.
“The forum will aim to expand and strengthen the scientific humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and China, and to develop a set of methodological and practical measures to align the interests and capacities of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the EAEU. The participants will review in detail the state and prospects of the Belarusian-Chinese scientific cooperation, and consider mutual benefits from the implementation of joint Belt and Road projects,” the press service added.
