MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – The meeting of the Board of the Federation of All European Academies (ALLEA) will take place in Minsk in June 2016, BelTA learnt from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).
The relevant agreement was reached between the NASB delegation and President of the General Assembly of the Federation of All European Academies Gunter Stock during the meeting of the ALLEA General Assembly in Lisbon on 23-24 April.
As part of the General Assembly, Belarusian scientists held bilateral talks on cooperation and the initiating of new areas of collaboration with representatives of foreign scientific organizations from 21 states. “The Academy of Sciences of Lisbon and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed a memorandum of understanding in scientific cooperation aimed at uniting the efforts of Portuguese and Belarusian scientists in the implementation of joint projects in the progressive areas of science. The memorandum was signed by NASB Chief Academic Secretary Alexander Kilchevsky and President of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon Luis Antonio Aires Barros,” the press service noted.
The ALLEA General Assembly, at its meeting in Lisbon, considered reports on ALLEA organizational and financial activity in 2014, strategic plans of the organization for 2015-2016, ALLEA’s business plan for 2015, and issues of the regional scale on the organization of the scientific activity in Europe.
