MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The 10th round of informal ministerial dialogues of the Eastern Partnership countries will take place in Minsk on 21-22 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event will include meetings of ministers of foreign affairs and ministers for digital technology from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The Belarusian delegation will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Communications and Informatization Minister Sergei Popkov.
The EU will be represented by Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Digital Economy Mariya Gabriel and Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs of the European External Action Service Jean-Christophe Belliard.
The participants of the forum will discuss the situation in the region and development prospects for the Eastern Partnership Initiative that is aimed to deliver practical results.
The ministers for digital technology will discuss harmonization of the digital markets of the European Union and the partner states, as well as cyber security, development of the broadband Internet and approximation of mobile roaming tariffs of the member states.
The talks will be followed by a press conference.
Apart from the plenary session, Vladimir Makei will hold a one-on-one meeting with Johannes Hahn to discuss a broad range of topical issues of the Belarus-EU agenda.
