MOSCOW, 28 January (BelTA) - Minsk has topped the list of the most popular CIS and near-abroad travel destinations among Russians in 2015. The survey was conducted by the Russian tourist service Travel.ru, BelTA informs.
Russians come to the Belarusian capital for four days on average and spend over RUB3,000 per day. Trips to Vitebsk, Brest, Gomel, Grodno and Zaslavl are also popular among Russians.
According to Travel.ru, the list of top ten cities also included Tbilisi, Yerevan, Baku, Kiev, Almaty, Tashkent, Chisinau, Astana and Vitebsk.
The most popular CIS and near-abroad holiday spots for Russians in 2015 were Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The ranking was based on the number of hotel bookings made by Russian tourists from 1 February to 31 December 2015.
