MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Minsk National Airport won the CIS Best Airport 2018 award, BelTA learned from the airport's press service.
On 29 May, the Airport Association of CIS Civil Aviation held its annual meeting in Moscow to review the performance in 2018 and honor the winners. “Minsk National Airport won the CIS Best Airport 2018 nomination. The Minsk airport received an honorary diploma of the association and the CIS Best Airport 2018 Cup,” the press service said.
The contest is held annually. Minsk National Airport joined the association in 1997. It won the CIS best airpot title in 2013 and 2017. It was named prizewinner in the nomination “For contribution to the development of the airport” in 2016 and got the title “Rapidly growing airport” in 2009.
The Airport Association of CIS Civil Aviation was founded on 18 December 1990. It is a non-government, non-for-profit organization set up to coordinate the activity of its members, expand their business opportunities, represent and protect their interests.
The CIS Best Airport contest aims to honor the airports who have achieved excellence and made a significant contribution to the development of civil aviation. The airports are evaluated in terms of route network flight safety, physical infrastructure, and the quality of passenger service.
Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
