MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Minsk National Airport is considering the possibility of launching a transatlantic service, Director General of Minsk National Airport Dmitry Melikyan told the media on 19 December, BelTA informs.
“We are considering launching transatlantic flights to North America,” Dmitry Melikyan said. The possibility of flying to India and Japan is also under consideration.
Minsk National Airport has already started operating flights to China, Dmitry Melikyan recalled. “We have an instruction to expand our services in China to operate regular flights to Shanghai and Guangzhou,” the director general added.
According to Dmitry Melikyan, the airport has been working on attracting foreign companies and adding more destinations to Belavia’s network. “This mainly applies to Russian regions, Western Europe, and other destinations. We got two airlines onboard in 2017. Another four will come in 2018,” he summarized.
