MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - Minsk tops the rating of the most popular CIS destinations for Russian travelers during the New Year and Christmas holidays, BelTA learned from the Russian housing booking service Tvil.ru.
The rating was compiled based on the number of accommodation reservations made by Russian tourists for the holidays from 30 December 2017 to 8 January 2018. The top five cities in the CIS and abroad popular among Russians for during the winter break includes Minsk, Baku (Azerbaijan), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tbilisi (Georgia) and Yerevan (Armenia). In Minsk the tourists come for an average of 3.5 days and spend around RUB2,800 on accommodation per day.
In Belarus the popular destinations are the Father Frost Residence in Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the ski resorts in Logoisk and Silichi.
