MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Minsk tops the ranking of the most popular CIS cities for New Year and winter trips among Russian travelers in December 2018 and January 2019, BelTA learned from the TurStat analytical agency.
The top 10 tourist destinations in the CIS this winter also includes Baku in Azerbaijan, Astana in Kazakhstan, Yerevan in Armenia, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Chisinau in Moldova, Dushanbe in Tajikistan and Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.
Russian tourists spend from $50 to $100 on accommodation and meals per day during winter holidays in the CIS cities and resorts. On average, a winter trip lasts for 3-5 days.
Tours to Silichi and Logoisk ski resorts in Belarus, Shakhdag and Tufandag resorts in Azerbaijan, Chimbulak resort in Almaty, Kazakhstan enjoy the greatest popularity among travelers from the CIS countries.
