MOSCOW, 10 October (BelTA) – Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall in Moscow on 10 October. The ceremony was held as part of the Days of Minsk in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
Attending the ceremony were the Minsk delegation, representatives of non-governmental organizations and the Belarusian diplomats. The Moscow delegation was led by Sergei Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Foreign Economic and International Relations Department.
The participants also laid flowers to the commemorative plaques to Minsk City Hero and Brest Hero Fortress in the Alexander Garden.
"It is very symbolic to start the visit to Moscow with the wreath-laying ceremony," Andrei Shorets said. He noted that he is accompanied by a high-profile delegation which includes businessmen, education and healthcare professionals and others. "I hope that after the Days of Minsk in Moscow our ties will grow even stronger", Minsk mayor said.
