MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Athletes from 14 countries will take part in the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament for the prizes of Olympic champion Marina Lobach. The competitions will take place in the Minsk Palace of Sports on 10-11 December, BelTA informs.
Medal events will be held in four age groups, including athletes born from 2001 to 2007.
This year the tournament will welcome three new participating countries: Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus and the Republic of Korea. Partaking in the competitions will also be Hungary, Georgia, Israel, Spain, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Slovenia and Estonia.
Belarus will be represented in the competitions by 42 athletes. Among them will be winners and medalists of international and national tournaments: Yulia Isachenko, Yulia Yevchik, Alina Gornosko, Alina Trushkina, Anna Malimon, Anastasia Salos. These athletes are also candidates for the participation in the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Holon, Israel in June 2016.
The competitions for the prizes of Olympic champion Marina Lobach have long become a real “factory of stars” for Belarusian athletes.
Last year the Belarusians topped the tournament standings winning nine out of ten finals. Apart from the main trophy, the Marina Lobach statuette, the participants of the 14th edition of the tournament will get awards in various nominations. The Presidential Sport Club give presents to all the athletes, coaches, team heads and judges. Each Marina Lobach tournament also envisages a great number of special prizes. This time the best athletes will be named in ten nominations.
The competitions are organized by the Belarusian sport society Dinamo, the Presidential Sport Club, the Sport and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
