MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian capital Minsk has made it to the list of top five most popular destinations for Russians during the Christmas holiday break, BelTA learned from the hotel search and reservation service RoomGuru.ru.
The ranking is based on the number of hotel reservations for the period from 1 to 8 January 2017.
Minsk ranked fifth most popular city for the holiday season, with Russian tourists spending in the Belarusian capital an average of 2.5 days and paying approximately RUB4,000 for accommodation per day.
The list of ten most popular cities to celebrate Christmas included Prague, Tallinn, Riga, Helsinki, Minsk, Vilnius, Rome, Barcelona, Berlin and Vienna.
Krakow proved to be the cheapest choice (RUB2,400), with Dubai being the most expensive one (over RUB12,000).
Thailand, Indonesia and Dubai were the most popular resorts.
Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, and Kaliningrad made the top five domestic tourism destinations for Russians.
