MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) - Five European countries will present their best practices in the fight against the spread of the new psychotropic substances at a workshop in Minsk, BelTA learned from the the website of the Belarusian Interior Ministry.
The workshop on the ways to combat the spread of new psychotropic substances is running in Minsk. “Along with studying the Belarusian experience recognized by the international community as one of the most advanced, the representatives of Sweden, Romania, Croatia, Belgium, and the United Kingdom will present their latest achievements in the field of counter-proliferation new psychoactive substances. The participants of the workshop will also get acquainted with a computerized drug identification data system that enables to monitor the emerging substances,” the Interior Ministry said.
The participants of the two-day event will discuss the whole range of systems for combating the spread of new-generation synthetic drugs, consider the existing difficulties in identifying illicit trafficking cases. International experience of legal regulation in this field will be also on the agenda.
The workshop has been arranged within the framework of TAIEX, the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission. This is the third time Belarus has hosted exports in this format. The Belarusian delegation is led by Gennady Kazakevich, the Head of the Office for Drug Control and Combating Human Trafficking at the Interior Ministry.
