Magnificent Silk is not just a collection of Chinese weaving masterpieces but is the bright and amazing history of costume, the love for which united all the residents of the Celestial Empire: from the emperor to ordinary people. The culture of Chinese silk consume is still developing. In stores you can find thousands of styles in different colors. Nevertheless, they have one thing in common: the ancient traditions.
The culture of silk in China dates back to the period of the Zhou Dynasty (11th century - 3rd century BC). For a long time the technology of manufacturing silk threads remained a carefully guarded secret. However, even in our time, when making silk is no longer a secret, China keeps this tradition in its original form.
