MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Minsk Days will be held in Shanghai in November 2019 and in Beijing in 2020. The Belarusian capital will host Belgrade Days, Shanghai Days, and Saint Petersburg Days in 2020, BelTA learned from Svetlana Gavrilova, the head of international cooperation and protocol at the foreign trade and international activities department of the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Hall.
Minsk Days were held in Belgrade, Riga, Milan, Omsk, Moscow, Budapest, Tbilisi, and Saint Petersburg. In turn, the Belarusian capital hosted Moscow Days, Riga Days, Saint Petersburg Days, Belgrade Days, and Budapest Days. The events were organized by the Minsk City Hall with support of the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program of such events includes business forums and meetings, which helps conclude major contracts.
“During the upcoming visit to Shanghai, the Belarusian delegation will include heads of enterprises and representatives of the business community. Plans are in place to sign cooperation agreements between the two cities and between Moskovsky District of Minsk and one of districts of Shanghai,” Svetlana Gavrilova said.
All in all, Minsk has signed 174 contracts, agreements, and protocols on cooperation with other cities. Minsk has a lot of sister cities in Russia: Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Ulyanovsk, and Ufa. Minsk signs new sister city agreements every year. The Turkish city of Eskisehir will soon become the 30th sister city of Minsk.
Minsk enterprises cooperate with 181 countries and export products to 134 countries. Major exports include oil, oil products, tractors and other vehicles, spare parts for them, household appliances, and medicines.
